I already had the first pair of gloves which was offered on Kickstarter years ago, but they were a little bit too thin (and tight) for the Norwegian coast in the winter (hunting Northern Lights on Hurtigruten).
I ordered the new pair a little bit larger than recommend (being at the upper end of a size), so they fit very comfortably. The first pair from Kickstarter was very tight, too, so ordering one size larger was a good decision. Good grip, good warmth, and the magnets of the finger tips work fine.
Not cheap, but well worth the money.
I recently purchased a pair of Markhof Pro 2.0 gloves (with Primaloft liners), and my wife purchased the Women's Nordic, for a trip to Iceland. We visited in late March and the weather was mid 20's to mid 30's F, wicked winds, rain, and driving snow. I have to say that these gloves were worth every penny! I am an amateur photographer (meaning i make zero bucks from my pics) so i was reluctant to spend a chunk of cash on photography gloves. However, after a week in varying weather conditions in Iceland, i am very happy that I invested in these gloves. They made my time outdoors very comfortable and the gloves were more useful than i originally anticipated. That is, not only were they great for keeping my hands warm while photographing, but they were also great for being able to pop my finger tips out to access zippers, credit cards, etc. Our coldest night was photographing the northern lights, so i used the gloves, liners, and inserted a small chemical hand warmer in the zippered pouch on the back of the gloves. That combination kept my hands very warm - i realized how warm when i would pull my finger tips out to take pics and handle my gear - it was very cold outside. I would not have enjoyed the experience nearly as much without the gloves. During the daytime, i just used my gloves and they were more than adequate. We got soaked by rain and waves a couple of times, and the gloves were waterproof as advertised. Regarding size, we both ordered two sizes of each, picked the best fitting pair, then returned the others for a small return shipping fee; spending this much on gloves, i wanted to be sure i had the best fit possible. Lastly, Vallerret's customer service was top notch to deal with regarding sizing and returns. If you are on the fence, i say go for it. I am very happy i spent the money on these high quality gloves and i know i will get many years of use from them.
