  • The Arctic is no joke, and this glove takes your warmth seriously.

Like a sleeping bag for your hand, the (UNISEX) Alta Over-Mitt slips over any of the Vallerret gloves models adding that extra warmth and keeping your hands heated when you need it most.

Inspired by the Vallerret founders’ days dog mushing in the arctic, you too can stay toasty warm in the harshest of winter environments whilst capturing your images.

Alta Over Mitt - Dovre

I travel a bit and have recently returned from Dovrefjell in Norway photographing the Musk Oxen. Needless to say, there is a lot of waiting around and sitting still.

The temperatures weren't too excess but having the Alta mitt to hand made it simple to put off and off keeping my hands super warm. A practical design that seems it will last a very long time with the premium material.

I highly rate these gloves, they will certainly be coming with me when I venture back out in the colder climates.

This will WORK

I gave this glove to my son who loves winter photography but has issues with Raynauds. While he won't always need these gloves, when it is cold enough (Yellowstone in the winter), they will be a lifesaver. He loves them

Mighty Arctic Mitt

Totally worked in -20F WCFactor, Boothbay Harbor, Maine, USA Saturday 1/15/22 photographing the wandering Steller’s Sea Eagle for 3.5hrs.

Hi Mitch,
Thanks for letting us keep your hands warm in those crazy sub-zero temps!
Have a great winter and thanks for your support.

perfect fit

I'm looking forward to trying out the new gloves; haven't had a chance yet. The merino wool liner & the Alta Over Mitt both are a perfect fit for me.
The workmanship looks like it will hold up to some rugged conditions.

No flap on the thumb

The mit is fine. Zipper for opening in palm works well.

But, in order to use the mit for photography, you get you 4 fingers and thumb through the opening this cramps the use of your thumb.

This problem could be easily solved by having velcro sealed slits with flaps cut over the thumb.
