Birding in Nome in June, is still a freezing proposition. Ten hours out searching I was pretty comfortable with these gloves, temps were 30-50 . I used the size link on the website to order, but the smalls seemed tight overall. I measured for a small. Returned them and ordered the mediums, I think much better for comfort. I will give them a workout next winter. The magnetic design is clever, to pop open your thumb and pointer finger tips. Both left and right hands have this option. Seem to be well made and look cool, I bought the olive green gloves.
I just did an astro session in -8C - so not that cold, but i have raynaud's so my hands are more susceptible than most people's. Because i was shooting for stacking images, I had to fire the shutter ~30 times for each camera position. Moving the fingers of the gloves back and forth for each shot was flawless - and my hands stayed warm for the entire session. Can't say enough good things. Even adjusting the tripod with the grippy palms was a breeze.
A well made glove that works for me! I put these gloves through a very busy Fall shooting season and have come to depend on them. They fit my needs well.
Really love the new gloves
In my photo trip to Canada in January for the ice bubbles, I needed a good pair of winter photography gloves that can keep my hands warm as well as able to operate my camera. I was referred by several friends to look into Vallerret gloves. I was debating between the Markhof Pro V3 and the Tinden. After reading their photography guide, I decided to go with the Tinden for the temperature and activity that I will be doing. The gloves arrived with great impression. The gloves were high quality, well made, nice looking. It was comfortable. I brought the gloves for the trip and it endured -25C with strong wind gust my first afternoon shooting ice bubbles. They kept my hands warm and dry and I was able to operate my camera with the thumb and index fingers when needed but pulling off those finger tabs and put them back on instantly. I'm happy with the gloves and surely will continue to use them for future winter photography needs.
The feel, texture, and sizing is great. I got them to take to Iceland next month and am excited to put th through their paces.
I’ve used a lot of photography and videography accessories that claim to be revolutionary, or the most comfortable, or the most necessary, and they never are what they say they are… but these gloves are different.
After a single trip, I can’t imagine traveling to a cold climate without my Vallarret Tinden gloves. They really helped with taking photos, but the real place they revolutionized my workflow was in flying a drone. I used to make it about 10 minutes before having to thaw out my hands like they were literal ice cubes, but in my first use of these gloves, I ran through a full 40 minute drone battery and was absolutely overjoyed with the footage I captured.
The other thing that shocked me, is that they genuinely were incredibly comfortable. I basically always hate wearing gloves and avoid them unless my survival literally depends on it, but I found myself putting these gloves on just for comfort.
It’s safe to say that these are now a part of my permanent camera bag. Well done on an incredible product, Vallarret!
I have very small hands and have not been able to find warm photography gloves. I ordered a slim small as per recommended sizing so I could put my liners in them. Really great gloves and I was perplexed what to do about sizing because they felt big and bulky but closer than any I had tried. I decided to try the ExS slim - they are too small if I put liners in them but very comfortable without them. I finally decided to keep the ExS slim to wear without liners and wear my liners when it is super cold with my Icelandic wool mittens. Again - thank you for the small sizes!!!!!!!
These liner fit great beneath my Tindin gloves. I usually use it with the index finger and thumb 'open' to photograph. I did not want the tips of my fingers bare in the cold so I got these liner. They fit perfectly and were great at minimizing the effects of the cold weather. The temp dropped to about 8F and had very little trouble with it.
Wore these socks for the first time today. Kept my feet warm and dry. Excellent product. I highly recommend.
I shoot winter weddings in North Dakota, where it can be -30 degrees F without windchill on any given day. A couple years back, knowing I needed better photography gloves that allow me to safely grip my camera and still use my index finger uncovered, I picked up the Markhof Pro V2 gloves. I LOVED them, but lost them early this year. I didn't think the V3s could be that much of an improvement, but boy was I wrong! These gloves are seriously incredible. I love how they look, I love how they feel, and they keep my hands warm enough for bursts of portraits in the severe ND cold.
The Tinden Photography Glove is an excelling product. Much like the Markhof Pro V2 and V3 but a little heftier. Exceptional at keeping my hands warm while I’m out in the field.
If you can tie your boots with your gloves on, you know that you’ve got a great pair of Photography Gloves. While the outer shell protects you from the elements, the soft Merino Wool liner offer unparalleled breathability which reacts to the changes in your hand’s temperature. This ultimately helps your hands with staying warm when the weather is cold. Oh, they tend to run a little tight, so use their Size Guide to get that perfect pair of Photography Gloves to tie your boots, so you can head out and get that next wall-hanging image.
Seem nice for moderate weather about 30-40F. Nice and well made
Had tried the mitten style and found them difficult to hold the camera in my left hand. When I returned then and got the glove version I could wrap finger on the left hand around the camera to hold it in place. Was very pleased with the return policy and the ease of making a change.
Regular winter gloves make it nearly impossible to adjust settings or change a lens. A challenge most photographers struggle with.
So a decade ago, we decided to change that.
This guide will give you an idea of the warmth of a particular glove compared to our other models.
