Regular winter gloves make it nearly impossible to adjust settings or change a lens. A challenge most photographers struggle with.
So a decade ago, we decided to change that.
I ordered the Djuke gloves because I wanted a glove that did double duty: an everyday glove for around town and a photography glove. The Djuke gloves meet both my needs.
Features-wise, they work great. The magnets are strong enough to keep the finger caps out of the way. The capacitance touch also works well for using a phone or my car’s touchscreen (works on my camera’s touchscreen too, but the LCD buttons are too small to select). The merino wool keeps my hands warm down to about 25 degrees Fahrenheit/4 degrees Celsius, even with the finger caps off while I’m shooting (on windier or colder days, the caps stay off just long enough for the shot). The leather feels soft out of the box; this allows for a lot of flexibility in the glove. I keep the cuffs at the wider setting, making it easier for me to pull the gloves on and off. I’m able to use these with a Peak Design Clutch attached to my camera. By the way, I’m not a fan of the cold, and the Djuke gloves keep my hands warm while doing urban, street, and nature photography.
I noticed that the gloves feel slick when driving; my steering wheel is also leather-wrapped. A recent application of leather conditioner seemed to help add some tackiness, but I’m not sure if this is the glove or the steering wheel. This has not been an issue when using the gloves for photography, though.
I initially ordered a pair in XL, based on the same size Markhof V2 that I purchased the prior year. The Djuke XL were just a bit tight, so I exchanged them for XXL right before Christmas (Dec 23). Denisa was absolutely fantastic and helpful throughout the entire exchange process. I had the new gloves on Dec 30, during the busiest shipping time of the year. Denisa demonstrated first class customer service!
Great gloves. Fit perfectly. Soft and warm, easy to use with camera.
I decided to "upgrade" to the Alta Mitt before a trip to Yellowstone. Just like the ad states, they are like a sleeping bag for your hands. They were very warm, even on subzero days. I wish I would have bought these years ago.
The quality and comfortable design makes cold weather trips delightful. No more cold hands holding a tripod! Love these gloves!
Great fitting and easy to use when taking photos on cold wintry days.
Love the mits!! They are very warm and functional as described.
I’ve tried many so-called “insulated” gloves over five decades, and this is the first set of gloves that have truly kept my hands warm in near-zero (F) temps. Great for photography, as designed, but also a welcome addition while shoveling snow.
Bought the Tinder gloves for my outdoor photography sessions. It gets in the single digits in New England winter season and standing for long periods of time is just about impossible without proper gear. These gloves are warm and fit nicely in the mitt! I recommend!
I needed a good pair of glove liners for my mittens, to operate the camera settings this winter. So pleased that these performed wonderfully with a heat pad placed in the mittens. I was able to stay hours in the cold with no problem.
I have other Vallerret gloves so I know the quality is top notch. These gloves are very warm. I like the subtle details like the designed palm grip, zip pockets, cuff straps and the tripod tool. The flip fingers work well and the magnets hold them in place as they should. I ordered the XXL because my hand measurements were in between XL and XXL. They are a little big but I think they are good.
The gloves are everything I hopee for. Excellent quality. The best choice!
Comfortable liners that are good as gloves themselves on only slightly cool days
The gloves are true to size, keep my hands warm in cooler temps and the outer waterproof shell does not add a lot of bulk to the glove. Very happy with purchase.
These socks fit great and feel great. I haven’t gotten a chance to use them in any temperature below 35 degrees Fahrenheit, but I’m fairly confident they will be warm far below that.
I love these gloves ! It’s so easy to adjust my camera settings just by opening the fingertip of the Markhof Pro V3 gloves. I shoot the night sky where I have very little light and it’s cold . The Markhof gloves are warm and fit perfectly.
